A beautiful and relaxed city which has many friendly people is Lisbon. The people here are sociable and they all make efforts to stop and talk to each other. The city underwent a renovation and a new era came in when the city hosted European Football Championships in 2004. The city was revamped and now tourism is being promoted here in a big way. At the edge of the waterfront here is Praca de Comerico. This is a magnificent and beautiful archway and it attracts many pigeons. There are many shops here too which makes it a favorite with many shoppers.
The place is a focal and meeting point for the local community and people sit and talk here and children play here. There are many restaurants here and they serve delicious food and are bound to make everyone hungry. To enjoy old architecture one must also visit Alfama which is in the east of the city.
