Traveler’s cheques are not common in Armenia and also are not recommended. It would be wise to bring cash, ATM card or your Visa card. Some of the local ATMs may be linked to Plus system while others may be to the Maestro system. Cash machines are easily available in prominent places around Yerevan through which, money can be withdrawn in US dollars. Local bank ATMs can also provide this facility sometimes.

ATMs are available in all the major cities as well as small towns, though you may need to search around to find the one that matches with your card. Western Union offices are present all across the country and you will be happy about how easily you will be able to manage your money in Armenia.
