The Ranthambore National Park is located in the Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan that enjoys good rail connectivity with Delhi, Jaipur and Mumbai. The best time to visit this park is from 1st October to 30th June. Spread over an area of 500 sq km, it got the status of a national park in 1981. The historic ruins that dot this park make it a perfect setting for wild life photography. Tigers, leopards, striped hyenas, sambar deer, chital and nilgai are some of the major attractions of this park.

With over 272 species of resident and migratory birds found in the park, it is also a heaven for avian enthusiasts. Some rare bird species that you can spot here are graylag goose, woodpeckers, Indian gray hornbills, common kingfishers, bee eaters, cuckoos, parakeets, Asian palm swift. As the entry and exit timings of the park vary depending on the season, it is best to check in advance so that you can enjoy the safari as well.
